Welcome

Hi, and welcome to my pages. My name is Svenn Agnar Hanssen, and since July 1996 I have been Head of Operations at the University of Tromsø, Computer Centre. This involves keeping track of all the systems belonging to the Centre, and a few of the projects to.

I finished my Diploma Thesis in Computer Science (Microkernel Technology), from the University of Tromsø, in Desember 1992, and since then I have worked at the Centre. I have also filled a few positions in the University community; A member of "Likestillingsutvalget" 1995-1997 and currently a member of the University IT-council, secretary of UREK (previously UKIT) and secretary of the IT-directors meetings.

I rate myself as a Unix expert. I administrate more than 100 systems, from one to sixteen CPU's each, and up to 6 GB of memory in one box. Still, I try to keep my Windoze warm, but haven't quite been converted yet. HP-UX and IRIX are my trade.
